Asher is 18 months!...and has been for a couple weeks now. But here's the update :)
This boy is always happy and always all over the place. He is constantly running, climbing, sometimes falling, but 9 times out of 10 he has a smile on his face.
One thing that has surprised me with Asher is how fast his language skills have developed. The kid is talking sentences. When we took him for his 18 month check up, the doctor asked if we think he is saying 15 words. I believe David's answer was "uh maybe more like 100!" She was pleasantly surprised to hear that we lost count months ago.
Asher's favorite things to do are ride bikes, play outside, throw/kick any ball, read books, stack blocks, play with his big sis, eat, and if you can believe it, sleep. Most parents are fighting with their kids at bed/nap time but Asher is very willing to go to bed. He will lead us in there and happily fall asleep on his own in the dark and sleep soundly for 11 hours at night and 2-3 hours during the day. If anyone is going to wake me up at night, it is Emery. He is still using a passie in his crib (only) which is why I think he is so happy to be in there. I'm nervous to make him give it up. I'll just have to keep reminding myself how well Emery did and rip the bandaid off quick. As far as potty training goes, he is interested. He'll ask to sit on the potty but no action has happened yet so we are just going to take our time. We may try pullups once it is consistently warm around here.
Asher 18 months:
Height: 34.1 inches (90%)
Weight: 26 lbs (50%)
Height: 32.25 inches (73%)
Weight: 27 lbs 2 oz (88%)
I am so pleased with how well brother and sister get along. Sure they have battles over toys and snacks but ultimately it is obvious that they love each other. When he and I go pick Emery up from school, they run to each other and give a huge hug. They cry if they don't get a chance to hug each other good night. There is never any jealousy with David or me. I hope it stays this way.
