Height: 32.25 inches (73%)
Weight: 27 lbs 2 oz (88%)
Emery was in perfect health at her check up this morning. She is a little on the heavy side for her height (ideally those percentiles should be about the same), but she is also due for a growth spurt soon. She tends to grow out then up. We also decided to switch her milk from whole to skim...just in case. Our little girl is growing so fast! She has been transitioning from 18 to 24 month clothing for a little while now. She also has a mouth full of teeth... 10 to be exact and another on the way.
Emery has also been talking up a storm! Unmistakable words in her vocabulary include: Horse, Up, Dog, Cat, Ball, Gigi, Mama, Daddy, Uh Oh, Cheese, Keys, Shoes, Truck, Teeth, Eyes, Dora, Boots, Toes, Peaches...So if you want to strike up a conversation with her, use those words. This will also be the last time I list them all because that list is getting too long. She can talk now...we'll just say that. I'll let you know when sentences start coming.
There are many more words that we understand though she doesn't quite pronounce them correctly. She also understands what we say very well. She knows exactly what her surroundings are and will point/fetch them, although she can't quite (or chooses not to) say them just yet. Communication is becoming much easier.
Em has become very good at matching. She can pretty much fit all the shapes in the shape sphere all by herself. We also have these flash cards that have pop-out puzzle pieces and she can match them all perfectly every time...even without seeing the card. (we say the words instead) She will play these games with almost anyone so they are good things to bring out to get her used to new people. That, and you could always bring her a cracker...or give her a high five. She loves to give high fives... and kisses. Shy about waving, but she'll pretty much give anyone a kiss...weirdo.
Some of her favorite activities include swimming, throwing a ball, jumping on Daddy's stomach, playing at the playground, swinging, disorganizing cabinets and drawers, swimming, anything musical, watching nickjr, being read to, chasing Lincoln around the house, stacking blocks, swimming, pretending to talk on the phone, peek-a-boo...did I say swimming?
We have also decided to introduce potty training. I bought a potty today so that she can practice sitting on it until she is ready to give it a try. I'll keep you posted on that one. Pray for us.
