We Got A Zoo!

...in Branson that is.  Have you ever seen that movie "We Bought A Zoo" with Matt Damon?  If not, you should.  It is way better than you might think.  Anyway, this place reminds me of that.  A home town, friendly zoo, where you can touch/feed most of the animals.  Since this zoo is new, a lot of the animals are very young.  If you get there close to opening, they let you help bottle feed them.  Our favorite was this baby zebra.  How cute is this little guy!  You can buy a cup of food that feeds him and a lot of the other animals on the property.  The rule is...anything you can reach in and touch, you can feed.

 "No honey, we cannot get a zebra" was not a sentence I thought I would hear myself saying.

The great thing about this zoo is that all the animals are used to people feeding them.  So when you walk up to an enclosure, the animals come up to you and interact.  There's no sleepy bear off in a corner that you can't seem to find. 

During the "animal show," the keepers give great information about each animal on focus and bring that animal around and everyone gets a chance to pet/feed them.

 I didn't catch a photo, but we actually got to touch baby alligators too!

 Ash was a little skittish to feed the animals at first.  But Big Sis helped him out with this sweet little mini horse.  After that, he was hooked.   

 

This place was great.  It is a small zoo and its obvious that they are still growing.  And keeping with the Branson theme, everyone is super friendly.  Come visit me and I'll take you there.  Wednesdays is half price for locals!
