Done With Diapers

We are done with diapers!  (except for pull-ups at night)  I can successfully say that I am done potty training for the rest of my life!  Woop Woop Woop!
I totally recommend my new found zen potty training method that I chose to use for Asher in place of the crazy 3 day method I used for Emery.  Both were successful.  The only difference is this time I stayed sane and stress free.
Once he displayed some interest in the potty.  We bought some pull-ups.  After about a week we bought some underwear.  And he wore that only when he was awake and at home.  If we left the house, we slapped a pull-up on that tush.  Once he started using public restrooms and keeping that pull-up dry in public, we started letting him wear the undies full time.  When he stayed dry on a 9 hour drive home from TN.  We knew he had made it.
And you know what that means....  Time for preschool!
Unfortunately his first week was super short due to the polar vortex and the copious amounts of snow and ice we have been getting.  The kids only went for a few hours on Wednesday and late morning to early afternoon on Friday.
But Asher will take what he can get because he loves school!  He had a couple of accidents on the way to the bathroom the first day and one accident on Friday.  So, we are making progress.  He feels like such a proud big boy now.
I have certainly enjoyed my new mommy alone time hours.  I can go to 4 stores in an hour!  I get to go to the grocery store BY MYSELF!  Before it was a mad dash to see how many things I could throw in the cart before the snacks and the patience wore out.  I actually stood and read labels the other day. And then I helped some fellow shoppers who were having trouble in my isle...cause I have time to do that now.  Before, they would avoid the crazy lady breaking the speed limit with a grocery cart, avoiding eye contact, yelling at her kids to quiet down and to keep their arms and legs inside the cart.
I can now run outside instead of being trapped in the gym on the treadmill just above the kidzone.  I can meet David for lunch at the landing and have a nice little mini date without hushing a couple of noisy kids that constantly talk and demand my attention.  I can get all of the errands and cleaning done, pick the kids up after nap time and still have a couple hours of mommy time before daddy gets home.  I don't know who likes preschool more, the kids or me.  ;)
