We had Emery's 5 year old well check today. As usual, she is just like Mary Poppins.
(practically perfect in every way)
Height: 3ft 8in (75%)
Weight: 50lbs (90%)
The doc is fairly certain that Em is going to fit in nicely in kindergarten. She passed all her tests with flying colors. When she was asked to write her name, the doctor was really impressed that Emery included her last name as well. Unfortunately for Em, being ready for kindergarten also includes updating her vaccinations. Shots are never fun. For Emery, they are the devil. She gave a nice battle war cry while both shots were given. Emery doesn't scream like a girl. She screams like William Wallace running down the field to face off against Longshanks. It is hilarious and heartbreaking combined into one conflicting emotion. On the plus side, 5 yr olds don't get dumdum suckers like the rest of those babies getting shots in that office. 5 year olds get ginormous lollypops that take 12 months to eat. yay....
She's nursing those pricks quite nicely...when she remembers. Her arms go limp and she pouts out her lip and says, "my shots are sore." Sad face. It is amazing how they fluctuate between being fine when she is playing and hurt all of a sudden when I ask her to do something. She's milking it that's for sure. The lollypop helps.
