Potty Training, Day 2

If yesterday was a success, then today was triumphant! Things seemed to click today for Em and for me. Accomplishments for the day included:

1. Going through 7 pairs of underwear. (Instead of 24!)
2. Going 2 for 2 on the deuce. (WOOT WOOT!)
3. SIX pee's that started and finished in the potty! (She was 6 of 13 for the day.)
4. Zero, crying. (this should probably be #1 not #4)

The poo made it in the pot again! Oh, and I made sure she was done this time before we jumped for joy. Fist pumps and cookies all around...AGAIN!

I was able to pick up on her "I gotta go" signs a little better today. She even told me herself 3 times that she had to go! Em learned that animal cookies were her reward along with flushing the big potty all by herself. These were serious motivational tools for her. She would probably flush the toilet 100 times a day if I let her. She also asked for cookies all day long to which I replied, "We get cookies when we go in the potty."

The funniest moment of the day was when Lincoln ate the cookie out of her hand right after she picked it out of the bag. She was so mad at him. She kept yelling "Sit! Sit!" which is what I say sternly to him whenever I let her give him treats. You could just tell that she wanted to say, "Get off my cookie!" but couldn't find the words.

Nap time was better today. She only slept for an hour but that's much better than the 15 minutes she got the day before. This also made dinner time much better...along with bathtime, and bedtime, and everything in between. Naps are so important in this house.

Lets hope things keep on this upward slope for tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
