So we started focusing on potty training last Sunday. Asher was really excited to wear his big boy underwear. And I'm not gonna lie, his little tushy looks so cute in them. However, after 4 large puddles on the floor, we were running to the toilet every five seconds to only sit there for two with no result. Then Henry decided to join in on the fun and get sick all over the carpet...twice. I don't know what it is about dogs and having the worst timing ever! They'll go a whole year with out making a mess in the house and then the one day I'm stressed about urine being all over the place, they decide it's time to explode! This happened when Emery was potty training as well! But, I digress. That was the moment I called it a day and slapped a pullup on that cute little tush. It was also only noon.
On Monday morning, we started with the pull up. We had to run our usual errands after all and I wasn't taking any chances. After we got home, we tried undies for a little while until it was time to nap. Asher came up to me and said he has to go to the "bafroom" and I was giddy with excitement. It was a false alarm. But hey, it was the first time he wanted to sit on the toilet without one of us asking if he had to go first. Progress!
Tuesday went a lot like Monday. We weren't trapped in the house like the 3 day method/horror recommends. We'd switch back and forth between pullup and underwear depending on the activitiy. But that night, right during dinner time. (because that's when they ALWAYS have to go) Asher announced that he had to go potty. So we got up, sat him on the pot, and lo and behold he hit the mother load! #1 and #2! Slam Dunk! Swish! It was a total 3 pointer. He got rewarded with a reese's peanut butter cup. He didn't eat any more of his dinner, but I was picking my battles at that time.
Today is much of the same. He chooses when he wants to try and so far no dice. But we sure do talk about it a lot. I can't wait for the day when I can go a whole hour without saying the words Poo Poo and Pee Pee.

P.S. I went back and read all of the potty training posts from when Emery was two. I really had to laugh at myself. Why was I making it so hard? And why did it take me like 5 days to ask myself that question? I also thank my Lord in heaven that Asher is 10 times a better sleeper that Em was at that age.
