We headed for the mountains this year for spring break. Cousin Brady was getting married and we went to Colorado to join the festivities and get some time in on the slopes!
This video is a little fuzzy, but here are the kids getting down on the dance floor at the reception. So cute.
Before hitting the slopes, we decided to try out some sleds we found in the condo.
The kids had a blast.
Emery didn't want to stop and take pictures she was having so much fun.
Asher wasn't so sure about all this cold white stuff.
That is, until he learned that he could ride super fast down the hill on the sled.
We had to tear both kids off the hill.
The next day, we suited up and took Emery skiing for the first time.
We kept her on the bunny slope that had its own small chair lift. (which she loved btw)
Here we are up in the air. Look at her cute little skis!
Things were a little tricky at first. She wasn't really fond of falling. And everyone who has ever skied knows that's pretty much all you do your first time. She and I crashed our first trip down the hill holding hands/ me holding her hood as she gained speed and slipped away. Luckily she fell on top of me and no one was hurt. Then after drying her tears, PapaTee took over.
And his method was much more efficient.
They probably went up and down the hill 7 or 8 times! She was in heaven and was even able to glide a little on her own at the bottom of the slope where the ground was flatter.
We are so proud of her. And now that we have planted the seed, we can't wait for more ski trips to come. Though next time, we will practice getting up off the ground with skis on the night before and not in the middle of the slope. haha
After about an hour and half this girl was pooped. So Nana came and picked her up and the three of us hit the big slopes together.
Here is me, then David, "gettin' some smash!" as Dad would say.
I rocked this bodacious helmet Dad found for me for like $10. I even got compliments on the thing!
We drove back to Dad and Deb's house on our last day and rode over to the cabin on the gator to swing and play in the knee deep snow.
And David finally got to try out the launch platform.
This was Asher's favorite part of the trip.
We couldn't get him off of the "Big Truck!"
This trip was so amazing and so fast. I think we all could have slept for 24 hours straight when we got home. We were so exhausted! I'm not gonna lie, no matter how much we love Colorado, it is nice to be back down where the air is thick and humid. We can finally breathe again.
