Congratulations you are 9 months pregnant! That means you are headed straight to the hospital to have your baby! WRONG!
We are now 36 weeks pregnant. Which by my math, means 9 months. But what a lot of people don't know is that a full term pregnancy last for 40 weeks which is actually 10 months. Making it to 9 months is a cruel joke because you really have about 4 more weeks to go after that. According to my weekly baby emails, Asher should be about 6lbs right now "(like a crenshaw melon)"and will be gaining around an ounce a day from here on out.
At our doctor appointment this morning, we found out that we really aren't that close to having this boy just yet. Though the head is in the right place, I am not dilated at all nor am I thinned out enough for birth. This little guy still has some more cooking and dropping to do. Which I will totally appreciate because he is still high enough to give me the worst heart burn I have ever felt in my entire life. And it doesn't matter what I eat. From pizza to pancakes, I'm like a fire breathing dragon.
I have also had a hard time kicking this annoying cold that has been lingering for about 3 weeks. The doc finally gave me some antibiotics today so hopefully in a few days I will remember what it is like to not have a sore throat, cough, runny/stuffy nose. On the bright side, at least the pink eye is gone for good. :)
Emery thought it would be fun to decorate my belly this afternoon. She is really into stickers right now. They seem to be all over the house. I have a feeling that when Asher is born, I will find some rogue stickers on him as well.
If this pregnancy is anything like the last one, I should be ready to deliver in about 3 weeks. Emery came a week early and I am hoping that Asher does as well. I will try to update each week since I will be checked at our weekly doctor visits.
