This year's trip to the cabin was awesome, relaxing, and filled with fun. It was nice to go a full week without internet and cell phones. The only thing missing from our trip was Daddy(he had to work). However, 2 huge mommy points to me for loading both kids up on a plane and taking them by myself!
Here's our little mountain girl complete with her new mountain boots, which Papa Tee said were mandatory.
Papa Tee and Nana's new gator was our mode of transportation for the week. If Papa Tee was in the gator, Emery was either in his lap or strapped in right next to him....which didn't make Duke too happy (that's his seat).
Asher loved his first trip to the cabin.
There was so much for him to explore.
He had the cabin feet to prove it.
Our days were spent swinging with cousins,
picking wild cherries,
and swimming in the lake.
Which was the warmest I have ever felt.
...warm being a relative term. Maybe I should have said "less cold."
This also made for some really easy fishing. Emery caught a fish in about 5 minutes, me in 10.
It took her a little bit to warm up to her fish.
With Papa Tee's help, the fish fear subsided and she was really proud to be successful fisherman.
And boy did they taste good!
It was a nice appetizer for the 4th of July family dinner at the Big Cabin.
It wouldn't be a family reunion without a little "Hello Dolly" and "Slaughter on 10th Avenue" on the player piano. I swear that thing is getting harder and harder to pump each year. One song about did me in. I was sore for 2 days!
And don't forget ping pong! Do we see a future family champ?
...only if she gets her training from Daddy.
