12 Weeks

We are officially out of the first trimester and have entered the 2nd. So far things are going very well...especially now that I can eat again. The only food aversion I had while pregnant with Emery was red meat. This time, anything after 3pm sounded gross. I still have no interest in red meat but that's just fine because I can survive on everything else. I am noticing that my stomach has started to poke out a little faster this go around. I'm not wearing maternity clothes yet. Though, as you can see below, I look the same at 3 months now as I did at 4 months then. The weird part is, I lost 5 lbs above and gained 4 below.

Our next doctor appt. is a week from Thursday. Two weeks ago we got to listen to the heartbeat for the first time. While the doc was trying to find it, she asked Emery whether she wanted a brother or a sister. She again said, "brodder." Just then we could hear the baby's heartbeat and the doctor said, "Well you may get your wish. The baby's heart rate is around 150 and an old wives tale says that means it will be a boy." I think David's heart skipped a beat.
