Good Golly She's Two!

Em's 2nd year check up was this morning and she is just like Mary Poppins...practically perfect in every way.

Height: 35 inches (just shy of 3 feet!) 80%
Weight: 31lbs 90%
Did you know that one of the milestones for turning two is being able to stack 8 blocks in a row? I learned that today. Em gave it a try when we got home...without me telling her to do so. It was amazing. She is so smart.
My favorite part of the check up was when she showed off her smarts to the doc. He asked about potty training and after I told him of our recent success he gave me advice "not to push it and to wait for her to tell me." Just then she chimed in with a "pee potty!" meaning she had to go. It just about shocked him right out of his stethoscope. She went and I couldn't be more proud.
Some things Emery is into now that she is two...
-She has become very polite by saying please and thank you on a regular basis. And "Bless You!" is never missed if you sneeze.
-She is becoming much better at carrying on a conversation...even if you can't understand what she is saying 15% of the time.
-She has learned the words to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and will sing along whenever she hears the tune.
-She knows about every 5th letter in the ABC song but can pick out and name all 26 letters perfectly out of order.
-She can count to 13 but tries to 20.
-She can tell you her name and how old she is.
-Her favorite show is The Fresh Beat Band on NickJr
-Her favorite movie is Finding Nemo...but only because we only have The Lion King on VHS and we took the TV out of her room which contained our only VCR.
-We have started Mommy/Toddler gymnastics at the YMCA and jumping on the trampoline is her favorite part.
- She likes picking out her own clothes.
Which can be humorous at times.
-She can now ride in her own seat on an airplane...which both is easy on the lap and hard on the pocket.
-She is learning to ride a bike and dreams for weather above 45 degrees because Mommy won't take her out to ride unless it is warm enough.

We are even thinking of converting her crib to a toddler bed but also don't want to mess up a good thing. We'll see how things go....
