My goodness, how time flies! I can't believe Emery is 6 months old already. There is so much going on in the Ayer household that we have barely had time to take it all in. As most of you know, David just had lower jaw advancement surgery last Wednesday. The surgery went fantastically and he is now recovering at home. His jaw will be wired shut until 7/2 and then he will have super strong elastics until 7/13. This will keep him from chewing and opening his mouth. He will be on a liquid diet until the 13th. He isn't able to talk on the phone so email and text are the best ways to get a hold of him.

I joke with him that he and Em will be sharing meals from now on. That girl loves to eat, as you can see in the video below. My mother is the one feeding her. She came in town to help out during David's surgery and recovery and has been an absolute life saver. We seriously could not have done this without extra help. There were many places in the hospital that children, let alone babies, couldn't go. Thanks Mom. We love you!

We just had Em's 6 month check up today and she is growing like a weed! She is in the 80th percentile for height. We intruduce new foods to her every so often and there doesn't seem to be anything that she doesn't like. She even likes apples now. Her sitting up and rolling over skills are improving though, she isn't crawling just yet. We leave for our annual trip to the cabin in Colorado next Friday. I am so excited to introduce a new generation to my favorite place in the whole world. That old cabin is kid (and dog) heaven. I'll devote an entire post to our trip when we get back. For now, here are Em's latest and greatest. We love you all!
